Metal Gear Solid 4

It's been years since there has been a major Metal Gear solid release and Komani has announced that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released exclusively for PS3 on June 12. Yes, bad news for XBOX users.

Konami will pack in the Metal Gear Online "starter pack" and the Metal Gear Saga DVD 2.0 DVD for those who pre-order. The Starter Pack supports online game play for up to 16 players.

The multiplayer beta test is scheduled to open in late April and will be available to all who pre-order. It is expected to run roughly for 14 days. The game includes new features such as the remote-controlled 'Metal Gear Mk.II' droid and an enhanced Close Quarters Combat System.

If you don't have a PS3, you can purchase the Playstation 3 bundle pack. It includes an 80 gig console, new Dualshock 3 Controller and the MGS4 of course. The package costs $499. With Grand Theft Auto IV coming out this April, I'm seriously thinking about getting a PS3.

Disney's Ultimate Band

Disney, trying to capitalize on the success of the likes of Guitar Hero will be releasing a new game called Ultimate band on Wii and DS. It's aimed at teenagers and kids and will be out in a couple of months.

According to their press release, Disney will provide gamers with " the very biggest names in rock, alternative, popular, emo and indie rock music".

"Ultimate Band invites kids, tweens and teens to join in the jam session," says Craig Relyea, senior vice president at Disney Interactive. "And whether they choose guitar, drums, bass or front man, members don’t need to buy costly, single-function peripherals to play their way through Ultimate Band’s deep song list, dynamic venues, and customizable characters. The Wii Remote and DS stylus are the only tools they’ll need to reach rock stardom in Ultimate Band."

It has no peripherals and will require you to use either the stylus or Wiimote. Some people like it and some people don't. I guess it's just preference.
