Games you could play

Summer vacation has just ended here in the Philippines and will be starting in western countries. With the advancement of the Internet, kids nowadays grow to be more exposed to the world wide web than we were in our age. My younger sisters and my cousins played various online games during their summer break so I'm listing them down to suggest them to kids who enjoy online gaming.

Although it has some disadvantages, I think the advantages outweigh them. Online gaming has taught my little sisters and cousins to be more Internet savvy, it has improved their English and communication skills, and has tickled their brains into solving and figuring out what to do in those games they've played. dragonfable

Dragonfable - It's a free animated fantasy RPG browser game. Since it's a browser game, there is no need to install any software and players can just log in to their accounts using their browsers to enjoy the game. Although it's free to play, those who wish to support the game can do so by upgrading with a Dragon Amulet that unlocks exclusive areas and powerful items. It's a one time fee that costs $19.95 for a single amulet and $29.95 for a special 6-amulet package.

Once you create an account, you can log in the game to create your character. You can customize the look of your character and can choose between Warrior, Mage and Rogue as jobs. From there you can explore the Dragon Fable world to battle monsters, find treasure, and participate in quests and events.

Ikariam - It's another free browser game. The objective is to build an empire and eventually win wars. I've only started playing this a few weeks ago and I got hooked immediately. After registering, you start off with a town in an island that has one of the four luxury goods as primary resource. You also get to get wood from the sawmill which you can then use to build your town. Once you get a decent army you can decide to pillage (steal) from another town or wage war against another town. You can join alliances and meet new friends in the game. Like most browser games, you can buy Ambrosia which will enable you to acquire 20% more resources and trade luxury goods.

y8 - It's a directory of free flash games. You have to guide kids if they play here because not all the games are child-friendly. The games that we enjoyed most playing here were the food serving games.

Club Penguin - It's a browser game from Disney that is ideal for kids. Club Penguin is a virtual world where kids could play games, have fun, and interact with other members. Upon registering, parents can choose to have a parent account so that they could check on their children's accounts whenever they want to. The developers of Club Penguin see to it that kids can have worry-free fun online.

Memberships and upgrades are optional and gamers can still enjoy the game without them. If you ever choose to purchase them, payments can be made using PayPal or your credit card.

Tips on Optimizing your PC for better gaming

A lot of gamers complain about lag and frequent disconnections and are always quick to blame GM's for their incompetence without even stopping for a second to check where the problem stems from.

When experiencing lag and/or disconnections from the game, try to determine the kind of lag you are experiencing. If you try to attack a monster and the damage that registers is delayed, the problem is either with the server or your internet connection. If the lag appears like the game slows down, character movement slows down, the trouble is from your computer.

To check my internet connection, what I usually do is ping google. Why google? Because it virtually never has a downtime. You can ping your DNS instead if you want to but I find it taxing to memorize IP's. Anyway, to ping google, this is what you do. Go to START --> RUN and then type in

ping www.google.ph -t

The -t syntax allows the command to run until it's stopped. After typing in the command, press ENTER and an MS DOS window will appear

ping

From here you can see that 64.233.189.99 is the IP of google.ph. The first line indicates that the test packets (32 bytes each in size) were sent to 64.233.189.99 and came back in 108 milliseconds. TTL stands for Time to Live and defines how long your ping requests bounce around before expiring. There are a number of error replies that you could receive but the one you should watch out for is Request Timed Out because that would mean you are having an intermittent internet connection and that might be causing your disconnection.

Another trick I can suggest is to increase your page file. When setting up your PC, the major things gamers often consider is the processor, the RAM, and the video card. While running a game smoothly will greatly depend on those, one of the things that people often overlook is the page file. A page file is a section in your hard disk that Windows creates upon installation. It is by default, 1.5 times the size of your ram so if you have 512mb of ram, you will have around 1.5gig of page file. Basically, the page file is the virtual memory that Windows uses in case it runs out of RAM. You can increase your system's page file depending on the available space on your hard disk. The page file is ideally placed on a drive that is seldom accessed by Windows. To change your page file size, all you have to do is right click MY COMPUTER and click on PROPERTIES then select the ADVANCED TAB.

temp

From the ADVANCED tab, under Performance, click on Settings. performance

While you're here, you might want to set your Visual Effects Settings. If you would rather have a fast computer than one that has animated windows and moving buttons, you could set your Visual Effects Settings to Adjust for best performance. performance options

Click on the Advanced Tab and look for the Change Button under Virtual Memory. You can experiment with the maximum size since Windows will tell you up to how much Page file you can allocate. As I said, it depends on how much free hard disk space you have so you're on your own here. Click on Set after you've entered the numbers and then click OK. You would have to restart so the changes would take effect. virtual memory

Another tweak you can do is to stop some Windows services. To do this, just go to START --> CONTROL PANEL --> ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS --> SERVICES.

If you don't have a wireless setup you can turn off Wireless Zero Configuration.

If you don't use Windows themes you can turn off Themes.

Terminal Services allows multiple users to be connected interactively to a machine as well as the display of desktops and applications to remote computers. The underpinning of Remote Desktop (including RD for Administrators), Fast User Switching, Remote Assistance, and Terminal Server). If you don't use any of these services, you can turn them off as well.

If you are not connected to a network and you do not use file or print sharing, you can turn off Server.

You can search google for more info about Windows Services but these are all that I've tried.

Wii recognizes the fitness revolution with the Wii fit

The active-play phenomenon started by Wii Sports now spreads to your whole body thanks to the pressure-sensitive Wii Balance Board (name not final), which comes packed with Wii Fit. The board is used for an extensive array of fun and dynamic activities, including aerobics, yoga, muscle stretches and games. Many of these activities focus towards providing a "core" workout, a popular exercise method that emphasizes slower, controlled motions. Family members will have fun staying active and talking about and comparing their results and progress on a new channel on the Wii Menu.

More and more people are recognizing the need to be healthy. This can be observed with the proliferation of health supplements and exercise machines and other breakthroughs that thrive in the market today. Nintendo has taken advantage of this and developed the Wii Fit. It was released in Japan, December last year and is slated to be released in the US this May.

This video game is obviously developed for the Wii Console (which is another aversion from the usual game consoles that would pretty much confine you to a couch) and was described as a "way to help get families exercising together". Wii Fit uses a peripheral called the Balance Board and has about 40 different physical activities ranging from yoga to hula hoops.

Last time I checked the Wii Balance Board costs around P7000 at Toy Kingdom while the console package costs around P20 000 on some shops and online sellers. Compared to a Lifetime Membership at Slimmers World which costs P40 000, getting a Wii definitely sounds like a better idea. The Wii Fit has a weight limit of 300lbs for Japan and 330 lbs for Europe and USA consoles. That means people on the heavier side should get their consoles from USA or Europe to make sure it won't break under their weight.

Metal Gear Solid 4

It's been years since there has been a major Metal Gear solid release and Komani has announced that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released exclusively for PS3 on June 12. Yes, bad news for XBOX users.

Konami will pack in the Metal Gear Online "starter pack" and the Metal Gear Saga DVD 2.0 DVD for those who pre-order. The Starter Pack supports online game play for up to 16 players.

The multiplayer beta test is scheduled to open in late April and will be available to all who pre-order. It is expected to run roughly for 14 days. The game includes new features such as the remote-controlled 'Metal Gear Mk.II' droid and an enhanced Close Quarters Combat System.

If you don't have a PS3, you can purchase the Playstation 3 bundle pack. It includes an 80 gig console, new Dualshock 3 Controller and the MGS4 of course. The package costs $499. With Grand Theft Auto IV coming out this April, I'm seriously thinking about getting a PS3.

Disney's Ultimate Band

Disney, trying to capitalize on the success of the likes of Guitar Hero will be releasing a new game called Ultimate band on Wii and DS. It's aimed at teenagers and kids and will be out in a couple of months.

According to their press release, Disney will provide gamers with " the very biggest names in rock, alternative, popular, emo and indie rock music".

"Ultimate Band invites kids, tweens and teens to join in the jam session," says Craig Relyea, senior vice president at Disney Interactive. "And whether they choose guitar, drums, bass or front man, members don’t need to buy costly, single-function peripherals to play their way through Ultimate Band’s deep song list, dynamic venues, and customizable characters. The Wii Remote and DS stylus are the only tools they’ll need to reach rock stardom in Ultimate Band."

It has no peripherals and will require you to use either the stylus or Wiimote. Some people like it and some people don't. I guess it's just preference.

Prescription Glasses

zenni

I made a great discovery with Zenni optical today. Being an avid gamer means being infront on the computer for the most part of the day. That meant exposing your eyes to radiation which also meant destroying your vision. This is probably why most gamers I know have vision problems.

Going adik mode will probably make you sleep in the same clothes you were in yesterday. It also probably meant accidentally sleeping on the keyboard. What I'm saying is, sometimes due to tiredness, you accidentally fall asleep. This is why I can't use contact lenses.

My only choice would be prescription glasses. Good thing I found Zenni Optical. They sell a lot stylish frames for a cheap price. They sell internationally so even if I'm in the Philippines, I can still buy from them. They let you customize your eyeglasses with tint or anti-reflective coating which is important for gamers as to lessen the damage on our eyes. And it's cheap! Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses are as customizable as the expensive ones. So for those on a budget, you can go for the cheap ones.

Botting 101 - How to bot an attacking Vidya

Yesterday I posted instructions on how to bot a Vidya on FS mode. Today I will post instructions on how to make the Vidya attack. Again, I'm using version 2.00 because of the number of buffs that can be cast.

First thing you have to do is set up your skill bar. Attack skills go on the F1 bar while buff skills go on the F2 bar. Using version 1.05, you can have 4 attack skills and 4 buffs. With version 2.00 you can have 6 attack skills and 8 buffs.

The following instructions apply only to a Vidya on battle mode.

battle bot 1 First, check and uncheck the Enable Monster Select until the box turns color gray. This would allow your bot to select targets. Monster select and anti-avara kara no longer works because of Dguard. Also, check Loot On/Off to enable your bot to pick up item drops. Most people don't like having trash in their inventories but this actually serves a different purpose. By having your bot pick up loots, you prevent it from getting stuck between walls and posts.

battle bot 2

Check Skill On/Off. This will allow your bot to use skills. Also check Enable R after E. This will instruct your bot to use normal attacks after skills. Delay before skill means the amount of time your bot waits before casting another skill. In this case, I placed 1000ms (1 sec). If you are having trouble with your bot going through walls and moving up to another room, you can set the delay longer, e.g. 3000ms. Also input the skill sequence separated by a dash (-).

In my case my F1 skill bar has the following attack skills:

battle bot 51 - Rohati (Heal)

2 - Spura Asara

3 - Prapad

4 - Visakro

5 - Asara (stun)

Notice that I placed Heal among the attack skills. This is because Heal is an attack when directed to an opponent, and a buff when directed to yourself or onto an ally. Take note of the screenshot to the left. I used Heal to attack a battle bot 4Kemsa tonyo dealing 2698 damage. Having heal among your attack skills serves 2 purposes. One, it lures the monster to you. Second, you recover your HP constantly.  If you look at the screenshot to the right, just like in every skill, some attack misses. This is still ok as it still lures the monster to you, thereby cutting the time between running and attacking. battle bot 3

The screenshot to the left is my BUFF tab. It is similar to the buff intervals of the Vidya in FS mode. Please refer to my previous post for more details. The only difference is the duration of the party heal. I use a duration of 6 seconds or 60 000ms. This is more or less equal to the amount of time I finish killing one monster. I set it up this way so after killing one monster, my bot will cast party heal.

After setting up your bot, click start or press F8 to start your bot.

Botting 101 - How to bot a vidya on FS mode

A vidya, more commonly referred to as an FS (Full Support), serves mainly as a buffer and healer in a party. I prefer to use booster 101v2.00 with my vidya because it has more buffs.

First thing you have to do is set up your skill bar. Attack skills go on the F1 bar while buff skills go on the F2 bar. Using version 1.05, you can have 4 attack skills and 4 buffs. With version 2.00 you can have 6 attack skills and 8 buffs.

The following instructions apply only to a Vidya on FS mode.

fs bot 1

Notice that in the OPTIONS tab I left the Enable Monster Select checked. This would keep your character from selecting targets. If it selected targets it might move around in attempts of personally buffing anyone who is within target range. This would ensure that you only buff yourself - thereby buffing the whole party, instead of buffing just one character. I also unchecked the Loot On/Off so it wouldn't pick up any loots. As a buffer it is important that you remain stationary to allow a wider range of partymates who would receive your buff.

fs bot 2

In the SKILLS tab, I unchecked everything. You don't need to cast any attack skills as a buffer so leave everything unchecked to prevent your character from moving.

fs bot 3Now, in the BUFF tab I checked Enable Buff. Then I proceeded to type in the buff sequence number separated by a dash (-). Duration is in milliseconds. A millisecond is one thousandth of a second. To get the buff duration all you have to do is multiply the duration in seconds to 1000.

The contents of my F2 skill bar are as follows:

1 - Kadorai - 600 sec - 600 000 ms

2 - Mantra Shield (Def) - 600 sec - 600 000 ms

3 - Andra Zala (Wings)  - 600 sec - 600 000 ms

4 - Rohati Susaruba (Party heal) - 5 sec - 5000 ms

5 - Scana Puri - 300 sec - 300 000 msbuff

6 - Basati - 180 sec - 180 000 ms

7 - Chenya - 300 sec - 300 000 ms

8 - Kalati - 300 sec - 300 000 ms

fs bot 4Another thing that I like with version 2.00 is the option to Message when buffing. The great thing about using a bot is being able to do something else while leveling. Having to stop your bot every few minutes or so because someone is asking if your party is full takes time and gets in the way of your work. With this option you can type a message that will be displayed whenever you character uses that buff. Notice the screenshot on the left where I input "full" on the Kadorai message. That way every time my bot casts Kado it displays the message "full" so I don't have to stop my bot every time someone asks. It's also helpful when I have to go afk and no one in the party is awake. I simply display message saying I will be afk for a few minutes and if ever you get dc, you can just miss call me or wait until I get back.

Botting 101 - How to bot 2 characters in one PC

There are a lot of ways to bot both characters on dual log in. One of the ways is to use virtual desktop. You can search for good virtual desktops on Google.

Another way for windows xp users is to enable user log in. To do this you should have at least 2 users on your system. You log in tantra on one user and run booster from there. After that you switch users and log in another tantra from there and run booster.

Another way is to run booster on your first character and use KP on your second character. To make this work, the character running on KP should be the primary window. If you don't have KP you can download them here. Please refer to my previous post.

The way that I am fond of using is through running Game Renamer. If you don't have Game Renamer you can download this one.

Game Renamer

After downloading follow these easy steps.

1. game renamer 1 Log in to Tantra with your 1st character. Once logged in open Game Renamer.

2. Choose a name to identify your 1st character and type it in the New Name box. game renamer 2

3. Click on Rename. You will notice that Tantra Launcher on your taskbar will now be renamed to the name you specified.

game renamer 3

3. Open booster101 and rename the window caption to make it the same as your renamed Tantra Launcher.

game renamer 4 game renamer 5

or in the case of booster 1.05

game renamer 7 game renamer 6

4. Set up your bot and click on Start or Press F8 to Run.

5. Open another Tantra Launcher, log into the game with your second character. Open another booster but this time DON'T edit the window caption. Let it stay as Tantra launcher. Set up your second bot and run.

Alternative to Digital Martian

We all know that Digital Martian often runs out of load. It's a big hassle especially if you're hoarding amped credits for the bonus taney events or the 50% off sales. I found an alternative way of acquiring credits via PayPal.

I found a paypal merchant that sells autoload, e-load and online game load. The available game cards are as follows:

ragnarok, rf, mu, gunbound, gopets, pirate king online, khan, tantra, skyblade, ts online, ran online, o2jam, battle position, Granado espada, groove bucks, legend of mir 2, supa supa, and acclaim games

All load denominations are available for Amped Credits. I haven't checked with the other games though. What is it's advantage against Digital Martian? You pay for the load amount based on the current exchange rate.

According to Yahoo Finance, the current exchange rate is $1 = 40.800Php. With that exchange rate, 500 amped credits would be equal to $12.25490. Digital Martian sells 500 amped credits for $13.99. That's $1.7351 in savings.

The merchant's website is still undergoing construction. It can be found at onlineshop.gracexcel.com. To purchase load all you have to do is sign into your PayPal account and send her the exact amount you wish to purchase. Here is how you do it:

  1. 1. Click on Send Money
  2. 2. Enter gracexcel's PayPal email: xoxo[at]gracexcel[dot]com
  3. 3. Enter the amount you wish to purchase.
  4. 4. Tick the "Service/Other" radio button in the "For" options
  5. 5. Click continue
  6. 6. Review payment details, and fill out the "message to recipient" form. Indicate your subject, e.g. Buy Tantra load and fill out the details in the Message field. Include the denomination you wish to load and your email address where you would like the serial numbers and pin to be sent to.

For more inquiries you can send a pm to gracearreza2007 via YM. She is usually available from 8am to 2pm and 8pm to 12 midnight (Philippine Time).

If you are having second thoughts, and you think you trust me more, you could Purchase Amped credits from me but you would have to message me first so I could check if I have enough credits in my Load Central account. Payment will be made via PayPal too.

Botting 101 - How to make Auto Join party work

Before I begin this post, let me just make this clear.

I do not promote BOTTING.

For the sake of study I will give basic instructions as well as tips in using bots in Tantra PH. For those who don't have bots you can download the following here.

AnythingBy3T - a keypresser primarily used for WoW

Cyber Systems - another keypresser

booster101v2.0

booster101v1.05

Dark Mantra

Booster 101 are both smart bots created by booster. The latest version consists of hacks such as auto log in, auto pots, trade spam and portal hack. When DGuard was installed, these functions have been renderred useless. It's still functional and is especially advisable for melee characters as it changes targets quickly.

What are the differences between the two available versions of booster?

Version1.05 has "auto join party". Why did I call it quote-unquote-auto-join-party? Because that function was primarily used to keep characters from getting stuck between walls. You designate the coordinate of "OK" that appears in your tantra window and input it in the X and Y forms.

Auto party doesn't work on you? Try this.

  1. 1. In game, choose an item from your inventory.
    1. 2. Drag it outside of your inventory. A window will pop up that says,
      1. "Will you drop... OK ... Cancel"
      2. 3. Hover your mouse onto the word "OK" but DONT click on it.
      3. 4. Take a screenshot
      4. 5. Open the screenshot in Microsoft Paint
      5. 6. Hover your mouse over the word "OK". Take note of the coordinates that appear in the lower right of your Paint window. It would be something like 640, 450
      6. 7. Open booster101 v1.05
      7. 8. Input your X coordinate (the first number) on the first box right after Auto Silfrijian. Input the Y coordinate on the next box.

Auto Join Party should now work. Booster was programmed using a monitor with the standard resolution. Most people nowadays use LCD monitors and laptops, thus having different resolutions. What you basically did is direct the program to where the button "OK" would be in your screen.

Troubleshooting Tips:

If your character moves around a lot, uncheck Turn/move when stuck.

If your character does not execute skills, check/uncheck the box "Enable monster select" until the box turns gray.

If your character doesn't select targets, check/uncheck the box "Enable monster select" until the box turns gray.

If you have questions feel free to contact me via the comment form.

Being the Alpha Dog

I often take the responsibility of being the party leader whenever I go leveling in Tantra. For one, it's because I am irked by incompetence. I dislike party leaders who have no concern for their party mates. Being an efficient party leader is a big factor towards maximizing experience points gained in a party. Second, because I like being in control. I see myself as someone who handles responsibility well and I think this should be put to good use.

As normal players may already know, being the party leader is a tough job. It requires you to be awake most of the time, watching the party, while your party mates are away from their computers enjoying their day. You on the other hand, have trouble doing other things because you have to watch over the party.

As the party leader, you have to make sure everyone is inside the leveling room. If a player ventures outside of the room you have to kick him out of the party and record the time.

You also have to jot down everyone who made a reservation in the party.

If someone gets disconnected you have to take note of the time. If he wasn't able to log back in after 30 minutes the slot goes to the one next in line. Of course, this has been the start of many arguments, which is again a bad effect of being the party leader. Most players will argue, insult, call names, curse you for kicking them out of the party.

You also have to be a good decision maker. Points of conflict often arise and you have to be able to handle it well. Often, there are disputes about the reservation list. Having many people wanting to be in the party, you would often encounter people who would do anything just to get the coveted slot.

You also have to be alert. If a character, in any event, is not contributing to the party (i.e. dead, or in another room, or paleech), you have to kick them out immediately and invite someone temporarily. This ensures that the party is gaining maximum experience points.

Lastly, you have to be patient. There are players who would constantly bug you for a slot, and players who have the brain capacity of a 3-year old who seem to not understand basic language even if it is in their dialect.

Updated Party Rules in Kriya

In light of the incident last Sunday where belchucky harassed a party of people trying to level up in the last room of Heroes Hall, we (the usual players in HH) decided to compose an updated list of Party Rules.

1. 30 minute rule - this is the standard in most leveling places in kriya

2. Reserve lists will be refreshed every 6am in the morning. That means if you reserved for Monday but was not partied during that day, you would have to pm the party leader after 6am to be re-enlisted for Tuesday. All requests for re-enlistment will only be entertained after 6am. Reservations can be made via pm and SMS.

3. A player who gets disconnected from the game for more than 10 times within the span of one hour will no longer be partied and will be re-enlisted to the Reserve List.

4. A player has an option of handing a Reinforcement Slip to the party leader, that may be used in the event that his/her character wanders off to another room. This will also be the case for players who wish to be automatically resurrected. They would have to provide JOL's in order to be ressurected. JOL's and Reinforcement slips may be taken from the party leader if not used.

5. A player in the reserve list has only 15 minutes to reply to the party leader's private message. If he doesn't respond within 15 minutes, his/her slot will automatically be given to the player next in line. In the event that the player will be unavailable for a certain time, he may ask the PL to pm another character or miss call/SMS him/her.

6. If your character stops moving for more than 15 minutes you will be kicked from the party. You can ask for your slot back again if and only if you were able to reply to the PL 15 minutes after you were kicked.

7. Being a killer is not an excuse for killing slow. Being a player, it is your responsibility to stock up on potions that you might need.

8. All afk'ers should make it a point to be re-added every once in a while to ensure that the whole party would be functional in case the PL gets disconnected. If you won't be available please make sure you have auto join.

9. There will be no slot trading for players not in the reserve list. Only the player who was reserved can use the slot. However, a player can give his slot to a player if that player has been in the reserve list for over 3 hours.

10. If an unattended character ends up dead it will be immediately kicked and can only be invited back if he gets to message the PL within 30 minutes from being kicked.

11. Make it a point to be polite to Party Leaders. They watch over the party diligently while you get to relax. So cut them some slack.

I would be quick to note though, that the PL may not always be able to send you an SMS or miss call you. These rules have been agreed on by majority of the usual party members in HH. If the PL is different, these rules may not always apply. If you have comments and/or suggestions please feel free to post.

Tips in Upgrading

Getting to have my own server has provided me with a lot of information that normally wouldn't be available to me. Among these are the rares that can be found in the Tantra World. I've also been able to test and verify which of the rumored upgrading tips are true. Given the unlimited quantity of items, I can continually test on the many tricks in upgrading.

Among the things that I have learned is that Vananta is really a scammer. We tried to upgrade a Datu Pazuta to +12. Out of the 25 Datu Pazuta +9's that we had, only one made it to +12. We only used Ramate and Prajati. We donated 100m (the maximum per donation) for every upgrade. And I mean EVERY. We donated 100m before we clicked on the blazing furnace.

So where does that bring us? What is really the surefire way of successfully upgrading? Could it be the Master Points?

Here's what I think. Master points only matter if another God-mate of yours is upgrading with you.

Scenario: Brahman Mijung 1 is together with Brahman Abatara 1. They are both trying to upgrade their weapon to +12. A fellow brahman donated 45m to fill the pot. Brahman Mijung 1 and Brahman Abatara 1 then clicked on OK at the same time.

In this scenario, it is highly likely that Brahman Mijung 1 will succeed in refining. The Gods will favor him more as he has more Master points. What would be my basis for such assumption?

On a stormy night in September 2006, I was having a few round of beers with Stripperella, xfrancescax, Kulot and iyah. Because of a debilitating mental condition(i made this part up), iyah managed to convince Aman (Stripperella's owner) to upgrade their Datu Bao +11's to +12. Unfortunately, the power went out. Morning came and the electricity got back, and the beautiful Ate Anne (yeah sipsip ako) went down and had her dutiful helpers to serve us breakfast. Aman and iyah then both convinced Ate Anne to upgrade her bow to +12 too.

To cut the long story short, they all agreed to click on OK at the same time. We started upgrading at around 8am. The first try, Ate Anne's EthAnne1126 succeeded in refining. Aman almost broke down in despair because he spent almost P10,000 upgrading his bow to +11. To pacify him, Ate Anne instructed to Kulot to get all the prajatis in their ashram storage as she promised Aman that they would not stop until they get their bows to +12.

EthAnne1126 was the Brahman Mijung 1 back then and Aman was the Brahman Mijung 2. Iyah was still in Shiva.

At around 1pm, we finally managed to upgrade Aman's bow to +12. I would be quick to note that the whole time, the Brahmans were the one filling the pot. So naturally, the Gods would be in their favor. At around 3pm, at the brink of giving up, Ate Anne took over upgrading Iyah's bow. After numerous failures, a few packs of cigarette, and a few unspoken novenas from iyah, it was over in just one click. It was only Ate Anne, using her character EthAnne1126, that managed to upgrade iyah's bow.

In summary, I think upgrading is still pretty much a game of chance. The blazing furnace, whether we like it or not, is composed of a series of mathematical algorithms. Success in refining still depends on clicking at the right time. It may favor someone given the right scenario, but it is not the absolute way of succeeding. It's still pretty much like Russian roulette, a second missed is an item lost.
